Universal Indoor Furnishings HS 303 User Manual

MODEL HS-303
AUTOMATIC LIGHTCONTROL
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Installation - Turn light switch off (unplug lamp). Screw into standard
light socket (120 Volt, 60 Hz). Screw light bulb into Automatic Light
Control. Not recommended for 3-way light bulbs.
Operation - The HS-303 senses light through three windows. Each
window has a shutter which slides open or closed to adjust the
amount of light entering the sensor. If too much reflected light from
adjacent lights or lampshades is entering through the unit, slide the
shutters closed until the problem is corrected.
Note - At dawn and dusk, the bulb may flicker slightly or appear
partially bright for a few minutes as the HS-303 switches on or off.
This is normal.
Note - Your light will not be as bright when you install the Automatic
Light Control. Use a larger bulb to increase brightness (up to 150
Watt incandescent).
CAUTION - Always turn the power (light switch) off before adjusting
the Automatic Light Control or changing the controlled light bulb. Do
not install or adjust if unit or lamp is wet. Do not use with fluorescent
lights, appliances or any other non-incandescent lights.
WARNING - To prevent fire or electric shock hazards, do not expose
this product to rain or moisture, or disassemble. No user serviceable
parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
WARNING - Read instructions carefully before installing the
automatic switch. Safety first - unplug the lamp when installing the
switch. For indoor and protected outdoor use. To avoid overheating
and possible damage from fire or to the lamp, do not exceed the
maximum incandescent load rating of the switch.
Indoor Use - The HS-303 can switch a table lamp on and off to
simulate home occupancy during vacations, weekends away, etc.
The lamp must be unshaded and placed so that the Automatic Light
Control lens is facing directly toward a window less than 3 feet away.
